Disclosure & Barring Service Check

£77.00

Why is this necessary?

Checking that the person you are going to leave your child with is suitable to work with children must be an essential element of your recruitment process. The Disclosure and Barring Check previously known as CRB/Criminal Records Bureau, helps employers make safer recruitment decisions.

If you are an employer?

Riverside Cares will confirm to you when the Disclosure and Barring Certificate has been issued to your Nanny, who will then be in a position to show you the certificate. Please note: To process a DBS check and references we will require your name and contact details and those of your Nanny and confirmation of your Nanny’s permission to carry out the check, as we will not be able to carry out the check without the consent of the person being checked.

img-dbs-shutterstock_228936508

Want your own check?

If you would like a check carried out for your personal use we can carry out a check on your behalf. Nannies, babysitters, applying for an Ofsted Registration and carers for the elderly and those who would like to give peace of mind to employers and potential employers can apply in their own right with Riverside Cares.

With each purchase of a DBS you will receive a £7.00 voucher that can be applied to any of Riverside Cares courses’ both on line and in our training room settings.

We’ll make contact shortly after purchase to collect your information.

Please complete the application form carefully (we suggest mapping out details before uploading them or filling in the form), Unfortunately once the application has been submitted changes cannot be made on that application and any new or further application submitted will be considered a new application which will incur a new full fee.

Managing Challenging Behaviour Confidently, Live Online Learning: FREE EVENT 45 Minutes 26th May 2020 11-11.45

Free

Are you having to deal with challenging or difficult behaviour from your child or children you look after?

Let’s face it, every child has one of those moments when tempers flare which can quickly morph into them throwing, kicking or shouting.  In the midst of it, you can feel quite helpless and having the tools to react appropriately can be invaluable.  You can learn how to diffuse a situation and support a child to develop and gain the skills they need to regulate their behaviour.

We’ll be talking about effective strategies that you can use and how you feel when you are at the receiving end of the challenging behaviour, whether it is refusing to wear certain clothes or it is a full-blown tantrum. We’ll explore how you feel when the tantrum is in full flight and how you can help a child to regulate their behaviour.

Are you trying to interpret the latest findings from Public Health England to ensure that you are not setting your child up for a life of obesity? Recent studies have shown the frightening level that sugar loaded and fat loaded snacks are informing children’s diets.

Finding the balance and finding a way to tweak a diet to make it healthier can sometimes take a very small number of steps. Emergency First Aid For Burns Prevention, Immediate Treatment, Applying Dressings and Aftercare (Infants, Children and Adults)

£15.00

Prevention, Immediate Treatment, Applying Dressings and Aftercare

Jill Wheatcroft will be teaching this 1-hour session in our Westferry Training Room 2 minutes walk from Westferry DLR

Why This Session Matters:

Latest figures from the NHS show that there have been 35,000 admissions to hospital in the last five years for children with severe burns.

The Royal College of Surgeons have indicated that almost half have been caused by children having too hot food or drinks or scalds from teas and coffees.

In 2018 more than 1500 children under the age of two got tea and coffee scalds. Some of these could have been entirely avoided if, for example, hot drinks are kept away from children or cords of kettles and permanent hot water tap are made inaccessible to young children.

What’s clear is that parents and childcarers need to know what to do immediately after a burn or scald occurs.

Jill Wheatcroft will be teaching a 1-hour session covering Prevention, Immediate Treatment, Applying Dressings and Aftercare. The same procedures can also be used in the care of adults who have suffered a burn or scald.
