The aim of this qualification is to provide learners with the knowledge and understanding of babies and young children from birth to7 years of age with applied knowledge in the early years, 0-5 years. The qualification content meets the Department for Education’s (DfE) Level 2 full and relevant criteria for a Level 2 Early Years Practitioner in the workforce.

NCFE CACHE Level 2 Diploma for the Early Years Practitioner via E-Learning and Practise Placement

The aim of this qualification is to provide learners with the knowledge and understanding of babies and young children from birth to7 years of age with applied knowledge in the early years, 0-5 years. The qualification content meets the Department for Education’s (DfE) Level 2 full and relevant criteria for a Level 2 Early Years Practitioner in the workforce.

You will be assessed using various methods by your Personal Tutor / Assessor and will need to be either already working in a childcare role or be prepared to undertake a voluntary placement for a minimum of 250 hours with both babies and young children. On completion of the training, you will be able to work as a qualified assistant in settings such as Nursery, School, Play Group or Children centres.

The qualification will usually take between 9 to 12 months to complete.

You will need to complete 14 units.

EYP 9 Support well-being of babies and young children for healthy lifestyles

EYP 10 Support babies and young children to be physically active

EYP 11 Support the needs of babies and young children with Special Educational Needs and Disability

EYP 12 Promote positive behaviour in Early Years Settings

EYP 13 Partnership working in the early years

EYP 14 Support the needs of the child in preparing for school

All units will be internally assessed using a range of methods including mini assignment, professional discussions and being observed in practise by your assessor.
