Why This Course Matters

The Children and Families Act 2014 introduced the legal obligation that schools must provide appropriate care for children with medical conditions. Riverside Cares’ epilepsy training will ensure that staff will confidently understand the condition and have the appropriate knowledge to manage seizures. The training course is designed to support a School in fulfilling its responsibility to provide equality of access to learning and to ensure all children have the opportunity to be included in all school activities.

One in every 220 children will have a diagnosis of epilepsy. That’s an average of one child with epilepsy in every primary school, and 5 in every secondary school ( Epilepsy Action).

This course is suitable for you/your staff if you:

  • Work in an Early Years Setting
  • Work as an ‘at home’ childcarer
  • Childminder
  • School
  • Nursery
  • Parent Group
