Emergency Paediatric First Aid for Nannies 1 Day Course (Level 3) Certificated

This one day Nanny First Aid training course, also known as Emergency Paediatric First Aid 1 day course is suitable for nannies, au pairs, babysitters and those who wish to join the Ofsted Voluntary Register.

It is a Level 3 qualification, and attendees will receive an eCertificate valid for three years (hard copy certificates can also be ordered), and the course is accredited by ITC First. The skills learnt can really help a child or baby in an emergency situation. As well as learning lifesaving skills the course will help build the student’s confidence in how to really deal with a life-threatening emergency.

Once you have successfully completed the course and exam you will be issued an e-certificate by the awarding body. Please note e-certificates are accepted by Ofsted. Should you require a hard copy please add this to your shopping cart when you purchase the course.

Do you work in a group setting? This course is suitable for newly qualified Level 2 and Level 3 Early Years Practitioners working in an Early Years setting as part of a team. It is key that, in line with Ofsted and the Early Years Foundation Stage that at least one other person in your team is a Primary First Aider, i.e. holds a current full 12 hour, Level 3 Award in Paediatric First Aid. A Primary First Aider must be on-site, on the premises and fully available at all times when children are present and must accompany children on outings outside of the setting.

Training with Riverside Cares: Due to the language of the assessment, it is recommended that learners have sufficient command of the English language in order to understand the assessment and to undertake the recommended assessment methods.

 

Description

This Nanny First Aid Emergency Paediatric First Aid 1 day course is suitable for nannies, au pairs and those who wish to join the Ofsted Voluntary Register. This is also suitable for  staff working in settings as part of a team where a sufficient number of other staff members hold a full Level 3 Award in Paediatric First Aid Certificate (12 hour) accredited by the Qualification Network

Assessment will be carried out throughout the day. Attendees will be required to demonstrate first aid procedures as they would in a real work environment, for example providing CPR to a casualty on the floor. There will also be a multiple-choice examination at the end of the training day.

Course Contents:

  • First Aid in early years settings
  • Responsibilities of the First aider
  • Assessing and prioritising emergency situations
  • Primary Survey
  • Managing an Infant or child who is unresponsive
  • Infant and child resuscitation
  • Recognising and managing an infant or child who is choking
  • Recognising and managing an infant or child who is suffering hypovolemic shock
  • Managing wounds and bleeding in an infant or child
  • Recognising and managing seizures in an infant or child

Due to the language of the assessment, it is recommended that learners have sufficient command of the English language in order to understand the assessment and to undertake the recommended assessment methods.

Certification:
